AOCMF Membership Reaches 1’000
05 Jul 2010

During the AOCMF Advances course, which took place in Mallorca, Spain from May 5-8, the AOCMF community attained the significant goal of signing on its 1’000 th member.  The lucky individual was Natalie Loomans, who is currently a Resident at UZ Leuven in Belgium.

In recognition of her status as AOCMF’s 1’000th member, Ms. Loomans received the latest issue of the official AOCMF community journal, Craniomaxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction, signed by all the attending Faculty members.  Among the signatures were those of AO Foundation President Paul N. Manson as well as Nils-Claudius Gellrich, Chairman of the AOCMF Community Development Commission.

Development of the AOCMF membership community

On October 1, 2009, AOCMF officially initiated a new membership scheme, providing high quality benefits for individuals who have participated in AOCMF educational events and are interested in furthering their affiliation with our community.  The launch was met with enthusiasm and, by the end of 2009, the community had already grown to include well over 600 members.

As part of the continuing efforts to improve the AOCMF member experience, our new website (www.aocmf.org) was successfully launched on January 15, 2010.  With the use of an individual User ID and password, members can now gain easier access to the following benefits:

Official AOCMF community journal:  Craniomaxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction

Online access to 6 current scientific journals

Online access to the archives of 23 scientific journals

AOCMF teaching videos

AOCMF Surgery Reference

Online case discussions

10% discount on all AO publications

Online access to AO Dialogue

Online access to the AO New Product brochure

The AOCMF Community Development Commission met just prior to the course held in Mallorca in May and took several decisions concerning the development of new benefits.  Among these will be the addition of some new scientific journal subscriptions, which will be introduced in the next few months.  All of our members will be informed as to how these benefits can be accessed as they become available.
