AOCMF Strategy Meeting

On May 1st / 2nd, 2010 the AOCMF Specialty Board has conducted a strategy retreat focussing on the further development of AOCMF education. The following key topics have been discussed:

a) Education quality and relevance: In order to ensure and further increase the quality and relevance of AOCMF educational offerings it has been decided to revisit the AOCMF principles course content offerings incl. the accompanying educational material. In addition the evaluation of educational quality was discussed. It was decided to emphasize the regular course reporting on a regional level. Also a task force has been established to run a pilot for evaluation of change in knowledge of the participants. The pilot includes pre- and post-course assessment and will be run by AOCMF North America.

b) In future AOCMF information about AOCMF courses will be distributed via the AOCMF Journal, the AOCMF Portal, and at AOCMF Events.

c) AOCMF ORP education: It has been emphasized that ORP Courses are of high importance for AOCMF and will be fostered.

d) Innovation: The integration of new communication and information technologies as well as innovative approaches has been discussed. Although eLearning will not replace “traditional Face2Face courses”, it can create additional value. A task force has been mandated to evaluate the integration of eLearning content into AOCMF principles education. The strategic initiatives of the AO Foundation in this area will be supported actively.
